FETAL ALCOHOL SYNDROME
Fetal alcohol syndrome is a lifelong yet completely preventable
set of physical, mental and neurobehavioral birth defects associated
with alcohol consumption during pregnancy*, and fetal alcohol syndrome
will not happen if the pregnant mother doesn't drink. Fetal Alcohol
Syndrome is caused as easily as it is prevented. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
can lead to many negative aspects of the child's life including
growth deficiency and evidence of central nervous system dysfunction.
Also facial abnormalities can occur due to fetal alcohol syndrome.
Over 12,000 babies are born each year suffering from fetal alcohol
syndrome. This number needs to be lowered for the sake of our future
and our children's future as well.
Being that fetal alcohol syndrome is as easily
remedied as it is, it is a wonder why there is such a large problem.
If all you have to do is stop drinking while pregnant, why are
babies born this way each year? The answer to this question is
simple. For people who are addicted to alcohol, the proposition
of becoming sober is easily rejected, whether their unborn child
will be affected or not. This is how powerful the drug, alcohol,
is.
If your or someone you love is having a hard
time stopping drinking even though they are pregnant then this
is a big sign of alcoholism. Alcoholism is an insidious disease
that can attack the person's mental and physical being. Once a
person has become alcoholic in their drinking habits it is very
difficult for them to become sober.
If you are pregnant and have been drinking,
stop drinking now. If you think that stopping drinking is too
difficult than call us. We at Spencer Recovery Centers are here
to help you with becoming sober during your pregnancy. Our facilities
are setup to assist you in your sobriety and help you bring a

then do it for the unborn child. If you are reading this in relation
to someone other than yourself, help get that person the assistance
they need in order to have a happy healthy baby.
When you drink during pregnancy the child becomes
addicted to the drug alcohol as well. To be born an alcoholic
is a big strike against you. Don't pass that trait on to your
child.
Although this is specifically aimed at Fetal
Alcohol Syndrome, remember that everything you ingest into your
body is filtered through the unborn child's body as well. Remember,
don't smoke, do drugs of any kind, or drink while pregnant. With
our help we can bring down the number of babies born with birth
defects every year. Call now and don't let your child grow up
with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
