CRYSTAL METH
Crystal meth, also known as crank, is an extremely potent stimulant,
and crystal meth is claiming the lives of more and more people each
year. Crystal meth became widely available in the sixties but then
fell out of popularity in the seventies due to new laws governing
the production of the drug. Crystal meth resurfaced in the nineties
and became very popular very fast. There are many forms of stimulants
out there, but crystal meth is considered the most powerful. Unfortunately,
not only is crystal meth the most powerful it is also the most readily
available. The reason for its availability is due to the fact that
crystal meth can be produced in a person's kitchen with household
cleaning products.
The ease at which crystal meth is made has
accounted for the meth labs popping up everywhere in the past
few years. These meth labs have been the reason that crystal meth
has made its way in to all the cracks and crevices of American
society. From middle class America, to the poor, all the way to
the rich. It is scary to think that a drug could easily move from
group to group at the pace crystal meth has.
With this information, many organizations have
done their best to help keep crystal meth use down and eventually
to a halt. Spencer Recovery Centers are here to help in that effort.
We are a group of drug treatment centers helping people cope with
their addiction to crystal meth and in becoming sober members
of society.
Being that crystal meth is such a strong drug,
therefore the addiction to it is also strong. Almost immediately
the body will begin wanting more of the drug. The use will escalate
and so will the need for more. A person may start out smoking
the crank in a joint of marijuana, and then if that wears off
they might begin snorting the substance through their nose. Once
they become use to the snorting of the drug they may jump up to
injecting the drug into their blood stream via a hypodermic needle.
If use reaches to this point the problem has escalated to near
death.
If their use continues in this direction death
might result. Crystal meth puts major stress onto the heart and
the circulatory system as a whole. If too much of the drug is
ingested the user might go into cardiac arrest. This might kill
them.
