Cocaine is a stimulant chemically produced from the cocoa plant. The plants are mainly found in northern South America. Cocaine was introduced in the medical field as a local anesthetic in the beginning couple of decades of the twentieth century. It was used by doctors to numb certain areas of the body.

The most famous story about cocaine, before it began to be abused, is the story of Coca Cola. A doctor was using cocaine in cough syrup to numb the throat. He would mix corn syrup with it to make it taste better. One day he added carbonation to the syrup and that is where Coke came from. Of course he didn't put cocaine in the Coke after that. This is the beginning and the end to the innocent use of cocaine.

It was used shortly thereafter, in a very reckless manner. People would mostly snort the white powder up their nose. The cocaine would speed up the heart and increase endorphins in the brain. This would make the user feel amazing. But only for a short time. The user would come down off their high and feel absolutely miserable.

People began to become addicted to the substance. Fast-forwarding a couple of decades and the evolution of cocaine begins. People begin to shoot it in their veins with needles. This caused many overdoses and death. Then people began to smoke it in a form called freebase. This is when you cut out all the other chemicals in the cocaine until it is pure and then smoke it.

In the eighties cocaine use became an epidemic. What happened then is people began to cook the substance into rock form and then smoke it. This is called crack. Crack addiction is one of the strongest addictions known to doctors so far.

Crack cocaine has done more damage to society than any other substance so far. Crime rates went up. People began to get killed over the substance. It began ruining lives.

The end result of cocaine addiction is death! Crack kills! As well as any other form of cocaine use. IF you or someone you love is caught up in the web of cocaine addiction call us.
